The Challenge
A retired government school teacher in Bangkok had been receiving her pension for fourteen months before noticing that a three-year overseas teaching placement — which she had completed under a government exchange arrangement — did not appear in the calculation basis she had been given.
What We Did
We reviewed her pension entitlement documents and identified that the overseas posting period had been excluded. We obtained the relevant employment records from the Ministry of Education and prepared a formal recalculation request setting out the legal basis for including the period in the calculation. Timeline from instruction to submission: three weeks.
The Result
The recalculation was accepted in full. The corrected pension included a modest back payment for the period since retirement, and the ongoing monthly amount was increased by approximately 8%. The full process from first consultation to confirmed outcome took eleven weeks.

Case Study 02 · Appeals Representation
The Challenge
A private sector retiree in his late sixties received a notice reducing his Social Security pension by around 15%, citing a discrepancy in contribution records during a period when his employer had changed registration. He had no documentation from that period and the Social Security Office had ruled against him at the initial review stage.
What We Did
We assessed the matter and identified that the initial review had not considered employment tax records from the Revenue Department, which corroborated the contribution period in question. We prepared a formal appeal with those records and a detailed legal submission. We attended the appeal hearing with the client and presented the case on his behalf.
The Result
The appeal panel reversed the reduction in full. The client's original pension was reinstated with a payment for the months the reduction had been applied. He was not required to attend the hearing himself but chose to. The matter took four months from initial instruction to final decision.

The Challenge

What We Did
We conducted a full rights review — obtained her contribution record, reviewed the applicable benefit formula, and modelled the likely pension under different retirement timing scenarios. We gave her a clear written summary and explained the practical options available regarding the contribution gap period.
The Result
No errors were found in her records. However, the review identified that extending formal employment by eighteen months would meaningfully increase her long-term benefit, which was not something she had been aware of. She used the written findings to make an informed decision about her retirement timing. The review was completed within ten days.
